Walton Family Foundation Announces Innovative Schools Program

The Walton Family Foundation (WFF) is accepting pre-applications for their Innovative Schools Program. This program supports educators and entrepreneurs in their efforts to open schools that look and feel truly different. To date, WWF provided $4 million in grants to 14 schools. 


Through the Innovative Schools Program WWF seeks to support schools that look and feel dramatically different, and will create breakthrough results & transformative opportunities for students.

  • Any new school is eligible - opening anytime within 2019-2022

  • Any sector – open to private, district, charter, homeschool & hybrid models

  • Anywhere in the United States

  • Each school is eligible for up to $325,000


  • January 15, 2020: Deadline for school entrepreneurs to complete the short pre-application form

  • February 2020: Applicants will be notified of eligibility & potential next steps by the end of the month

  • June 2020: After a rigorous application and interview process, WFF anticipates making final grant awards in summer.
