Call for Presenters

2021 OAASFEP Title I / Federal Programs Spring Conference

"Charting a New Direction for Learning"

April 22 - April 23, 2021

Virtual Conference with Live Zoom Presentations

You are invited to submit a proposal to share your work, expertise, and knowledge with other educators from Ohio School Districts, Charter Schools, and Institutions. Accuracy and completeness in filling out the form will aid the Planning Committee in giving full consideration to your proposal in addition to adherence to the guidelines below. Proposals must be submitted by January 1, 2021.

Guidelines 1. A presentation team may consist of a maximum of six presenters. 2. Proposals that are submitted by an exhibitor, vendor, publishing company, or other similar company need to be developed, submitted, and presented with an Ohio school or school district. They must also be able to share in the presentation how the product or service resulted in school improvement, impacted-instruction, changed behavior, or assisted with successful reform in a school or district. 3. No stand-alone proposals from an exhibitor, vendor, publishing company, or other similar company will be considered as a presenter. 4. Proposals must address the “learning targets” for the conference and should enable participants to gain new knowledge, tools, resources, strategies, practices, or perspectives during the session.

Learning Targets: * English/Language Arts K-12 * Mathematics K-12 * Assessments * Teaching Strategies for At-Risk Students, Students w/ Disabilities and English

Language Learners * Long-Term Improvement Strategies * Engaging Parents and Community Stakeholders * Continuous Training Opportunities for Coordinators of Federal Programs 5. Provide a presentation title as you would like it to appear in the program. Remember to avoid abbreviations and acronyms that may be unclear, and keep in mind that many attendees only read the session titles, not the descriptions. 6. Provide a clear description of your presentation as you would like it to appear in the program; three to five succinct sentences are usually enough. Be sure the description clearly identifies who should attend (e.g., Grade K-2 teachers; Elementary Principals), what to expect from the session, and entices or encourages them to attend.

Proposal Submission and Selection 1. Completed proposals are due January 1, 2021. 2. Due to the complexity of the conference schedule, we cannot accommodate special time and date requests for presentations. Please ensure you are available to present your session at any time during the conference. 3. Complete and submit your proposal online at https://tinyurl.com/21oaasfep. Proposals will typically be selected if: • they are received on time with all requested information completed; • meet the defined learning targets of the conference; • there is research or a record of success to support the presentation; • the content is current in the field of education; • the proposal specifies solutions to current educational challenges or problems, shares tools or strategies that produce results, provides new knowledge of Title I ESEA/ESSA, IDEA-B, or another federal program. 4. All proposal contacts will receive an email notifying them of their acceptance, along with specific information on the next steps with their letter of acceptance. 5. The registration fee will be waived for all presenters. The Conference Registration Form, Conference Program, etc. will be available at www.oaasfep.org. 6. Profanity or other derogatory words for a person or group of people in all presentations are unacceptable and must not be used at OAASFEP Professional Learning Conferences.

Please contact Ken Ferlito with any questions, or if you would like to sponsor this conference.
